Custom typeface designed for the logotype and communications of “Germania”, a traditional Colombian beer brand that existed between 1903 and 1984, which will be produced again today. Its design is directly related to the classic personality of Germania and its history in Colombia. We sought to rescue conceptual values of these expressions, reinterpreting them for the current era.
It is a one-style script typeface designed in order to been used in titles and short sentences. One of the main features is its casual appearance, high contrast and slope. These features respond to calligraphic principles of the English Roundhand script, combined with typographic styles of the 60's and 80's, periods in which the brand was active in its final stage of production.
Its use is intended for print and digital media. It has a set of characters that covers Spanish, English and Central European languages. Includes titling variants and alternate characters, besides ligatures and icons that increase its possibilities of use and expressiveness.
